I’m not at all surprised to be saying that September flew by quick. I feel like that’s been the pattern the past few months. Considering the holidays are just around the corner, I’m okay with this! I’m going to be starting a thing where I share my 5 favorite things of the month, this being my very first one. Here we go!
1. Living Proof Dry Shampoo from Sephora
This stuff is a dream come true. My hair happens to be extremely thin, and therefore it gets greasy SO quickly. Like, within a day. If I want to avoid the greasy look, I truly have to wash my hair every single day. This dry shampoo has really saved me! You may be thinking, “why THIS dry shampoo?” and honestly, something about it just works better. I’ve tried a number of other dry shampoos, but they always leave my hair either feeling gross or still looking greasy. This one doesn’t! It’s at Sephora for $23 and it’s lovely.
2. Breyers Delights Ice Cream
I’ll be honest, Ben & Jerry’s will always be my #1 ice cream brand because everything they make is delicious. But it can also be quite a lot with all the sugar they throw in there. I tried this new Breyers Delights a couple weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised! It’s similar to Halo Top when you’re considering the calories and protein, but I honestly think it tastes a lot better. Halo Top is good but, nothing amazing in my mind. THIS is where it’s at.
3. Tiny Plants
I feel like I’ve been getting a bit of an obsession lately because I want to put plants all over my condo right now. However, since it’s such a small place, tiny succulents or air plants are perfect for adding some green into your place. They fit pretty much everywhere and match almost everything. Really great housewarming gifts!
4. Cozy Jackets
This exact jacket was mentioned in my last blog post, because it’s getting to be the time of year where you bundle up in the biggest coat you can find. I have a collection of fuzzy jackets and pullovers just like this one, and I plan on wearing them at least once each week.
5. Crime Books
This may sound a bit grim, but I’ve always been into crime stories. I’ll watch any good crime documentary I can get my hand on, I’ve seen every episode of Criminal Minds and Law and Order, and I scroll through the TV looking for real-life crime shows to watch. Is it an obsession? Yeah, maybe. But I just find all of it extremely interesting. Lately I’ve been into books (fiction or not). Especially one book in particular. I’ll Be Gone in the Dark is a true story about the Golden State Killer. The author, Michelle McNamara, actually died before she could even finish writing it. The story consumed her, gave her nightmares, and lead her to take a number of pills that are said to ultimately be the cause of her early death. If this is something you’re into, I highly recommend checking it out! I got my copy on Amazon and it came the next day (because I’m lazy but also impatient).
There’s my five things for September! Hope you enjoyed.
